exhibit.law is a case-scoped evidence workspace: upload into a matter, run transcription and OCR, review AI drafts, then search and timeline with only the people granted on that case. It does not replace counsel’s judgment; it shortens the path from bytes to a readable matter.
Built for matter isolation, not a shared dump
Each case is invite-only. A grant on one matter never opens another. Experts and outside reviewers can be limited to tagged events when you need a narrow slice — for example an investigator or specialist who should not see the whole file.
That shape matches how PD offices already think: one client matter, controlled access, no firm-wide browsing of unrelated cases.

A workflow that matches the calendar
Drop an Evidence.com or discovery zip, individual PDFs, and A/V into the matter. The server expands archives, reads what it can, and drafts timeline events last — grounded in transcript text when it exists. Reviewers clear not-reviewed drafts before dates harden on the calendar.
Upload-time timestamps stay labeled as placeholders. Approving them in bulk without a real date is blocked so the chronology does not silently treat “when we uploaded” as “when it happened.”
AI that stays under review
Under normal load, transcription, OCR/vision, and drafting run primarily on closed, self-hosted models on private infrastructure. Peak demand may use third-party model APIs under no-training terms. Either way, AI output is assistive: humans review before the product treats drafts as confirmed facts. See the AI Disclosure.
